Cardinal Frame & Art offers a wide array of framing services. See my list for services offered and if you don’t see it here give me a call and we can discuss what it is you are looking for.

  • Custom Frames: Custom frames are ordered to a specific size determined by what it is that is being framed. I order mostly through CMI moulding and Larson Juhl. All of my frames available are made of quality wood or aluminum. Some frames are even sourced through sustainable forestry and I also have several mouldings available that are made right here in the USA.

  • Custom Matting: Matting is the paper border that fits around a piece of artwork and into the frame. All of the mats I order are acid free. I have museum quality rag mats available, linen and suede matting, as well as regular old fashioned paper mats. I custom hand cut all of my mats. I can do custom hand cuts if you are looking to have specific university lettering added to the matting as well as multiple opening mats. If you have a frame and a picture that doesn’t fit, bring it in and we can find a mat to make it work.

  • Custom Glass and Glass Replacement: I carry regular and UV protective glass in house. Regular glass comes in clear and non reflective. UV protective glass is available in regular clear, non reflective, and museum. I can also order regular and UV protective plexi glass and have some smaller pieces that I can cut in house. I can switch out the glass to a higher quality or replace broken glass in a frame. You may also just purchase a piece of glass from me.

  • Shadowbox Framing: There isn’t anything that can’t be framed. At least I’d like to think so. Shadowbox framing is a great way to preserve and display objects. Maybe it’s a family heirloom or just something interesting you want to place on the wall. I try to use as little or no adhesives as possible when shadowboxing framing. Most items will be sewn down or wired in so that they can be removed if ever so desired.

  • Needle Art and Fabric Framing: Handstitched, cross stitched, embroidered, there are so many wonderful arts on fabric. Framing is a great way to preserve and present these types of pieces. Fabric pieces are sewn or pinned into the backing board. I can do a traditional puffy mount with no glass or we can put the artwork behind glass. When fabric is under glass it is suggested that there is as much space away from the glass as possible to prevent moisture build up and rotting. Silk is also lovely framed. It can be a bit tricky. When bringing in fabric pieces I would suggest cleaning them or taking them to the dry cleaner before hand.

  • Stretcher Bars and Canvases: If you have a canvas painting that has been rolled up or needs a new stretcher bar I offer this service. I can build a custom stretcher bar to any size up to about 70 inches. I do the standard stapling on the sides or I can do a gallery wrap where the canvas is stretched around the side and stapled on the back. I carry a nice variety of floater frames that look great on gallery wrapped canvases. If you have your own stretcher bars and need help stretching the canvas I will do this for a labor fee.

  • Jerseys and Sports Memorabilia : I have framed many sports Jerseys over the years as well as sports memorabilia.

  • Frame Repairs: I do some frame repairs and minor restoration work. I usually have to look at the frame to tell you if it’s possible to repair.

  • Oval frames: I have a supplier that I can order custom oval frames through. I also can order the bubble glass that is seen in antique oval frames. I can cut oval mats as well.

  • Flags: I do frame flags folded or unfolded.

  • Photo mounting: Sorry I do not have a heat or vacuum press. I can mount photos on a preadhesive mounting board. If you are custom ordering photos to frame I highly suggest ordering them mounted from the print company if they are over 16 x 20. It just looks and frames better in the long run.
